  • Hosting Transfer, Migrating to PoSilCo
  • 1

First you will need to know a few things about your current hosting environment.

  1. What hosting platform interface does your current host use? PoSilCo uses cPanel as our hosting management platform.
  2. You need the login details to you current hosting environment. This can also be called the control panel.

To see what hosting environment you use follow the following steps.

  • Add /cpanel/ to the end of your domain name, like this: yourdomain.com/cpanel/
    • If the above takes you to a cPanel login screen your current host uses cPanel
  • If the above does not word add the port number 2222 to the end of your domain name, like this: yourdomain.com:2222.
    • If the above takes you to a Direct Admin login screen your current host uses Direct Admin
  • If neither of the above take you to a login screen or you are unsure you can log a support ticket and we will gladly check it for you.

If your current host uses cPanel or Direct Admin the transfer process is easily handled by our support team and can be finished in minutes. All we will require is your cPanel or Direct Admin account login details and the login details to your domain managment account (This is where you purchased your website domain name).

If your current host is Xneelo it takes a couple more steps to do the transfer. Our skilled support team will guide you through the process and make it a simple and seamless one.

cPanel or Direct Admin Hosting Move

Once you have signed up for a hosting account on our website, you can log in to our Client Zone and submit the login details for your current host and domain management in a support ticket. Our support team will be in contact with you to arrange the best time to do the domain transfer.

During this transfer process all the data will be migrated to our server. This includes all website files, applications, databases, emails, forwarders etc.

Xneelo konsoleH

As the hosting environment controll application is incompatible with other platforms we need to manually transfer your hosting account for you. Below are the steps required to move your hosting over to PoSilCo. Our support team will help you through the steps to make this transition a simple and smooth one.

Step 1 – Login Details

We will require the login details for your konsolH / Control Panel account with Xneelo

Please log in to our Client Zone and submit your login details in a ticket. If you have Two Step verification active, we will contact you to arrange a time convenient to you to assist with the verification process so that we can gain access.

Step 2 – Backup of Website, Applications and Databases

We will backup all your website, application and database data and move it over to our servers. This excludes email messages saved in your online mailbox with Xneelo.

Step 3 – Backup of Email Messages

Firstly, you will need to know how your computer is currently connecting for email. This can be either POP or IMAP.

How to verify if your computer is using POP or IMAP.

Opening Microsoft Outlook. Then click on “File” top left corner. Then click on the “Account Settings” button and then again on “Account Settings” in the dropdown. A box will open that shows your email account and to the right of it the type.

IMAP Email Backup Process

We will require the login details for relevant email account. Our server will then connect to your existing mailbox and copy all your messages to our server. This step must be performed just before we update your domain DNS to start pointing to our servers.

POP3 Email Backup Process

With this connection type the server does not store any emails. All email is saved on the user’s computer. No backup is required.

Step 4 – Update DNS

As soon as the IMAP email account data transfer has completed, we will initiate the DNS update for your domain. This process takes an average of 3 hours to complete but can take up to 12 hours to propagate globally. During this time email and web services will be interrupted.

Step 5 – Update Email Account Settings

The email account settings need to be updated on all devices that connect to a relevant email address. This includes multifunction printers/scanners, mobile phones, tablets and computers.

Our support team will send the settings required in the next steps to you before the DNS update is initiated.

Steps to Update Settings

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. In the top left corner click on “File” then on “Account Settings” and in the dropdown on “Account Settings“. The account settings popup will open.
  3. Single left click on the email address you want to update. Then click on “Repair” above.
  4. In the popup window click on “Advanced options” and make a tick in front of “Let me repair my account manually” and click on “Repair“. It might take up to a minute for the next Account Settings screen to open.
  5. Change all the Incoming mail and Outgoing mail settings to match the information our support team sent to you in email.
    1. Under Incoming Mail place a tick mark in front of “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS)“.
    2. Under Outgoing Mail “Encryption method” select “SSL/TLS
    3. Place a tick mark in front of “My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication
    4. Select “Use same settings as incoming mail server“.

  8. Once completed you, click on “Done
  9. If you only have this one email account that has been moved over to us, click on “Close“. If you have more, please repeat steps 3 to 8 for all relevant email accounts.
