Regularly changing your email password is a good security practice to help protect your account from unauthorised access. Please note that your password must first be changed either in Roundcube (for email account users) or in the Account Control Panel (for main account holders). Once you have created your new password in one of these places, you can then update it in Outlook by following the steps in this guide.
Step 1: Open Account Settings
-
Open Microsoft Outlook.
-
In the top-left corner, click File.
-
Click the Account Settings button, then in the dropdown menu select Account Settings.
-
The Account Settings window will open.
Step 2: Select Your Email Account
-
Single left-click the email address you want to update.
-
Click Repair above.
Step 3: Enable Manual Repair
-
In the pop-up window, click Advanced options.
-
Tick the box for Let me repair my account manually.
-
Click Repair.
-
Wait up to a minute for the next Account Settings screen to appear.
Step 4: Update the Password
-
The password field will display as *******.
-
Click the icon to the right of the password field to reveal your current password.
-
Replace the current password with your new password.
-
Ensure you update the password under both the Incoming mail and Outgoing mail dropdown sections.
Step 5: Save the Changes
-
Click Next to complete the process.
-
Outlook will test your settings to confirm the new password is correct.
